Advantage of forging parts

Compared with the same material casting process, forging process could eliminate the metal casting porosity, mechanical welding holes. So the forging parts are with much better mechanical properties than casting parts. The important parts with heavyload or applied in the rigorous condition, are produced by forging parts, except some simple shapes, which produced by welding or extrusion.

Different forging method

1. Open die forging and close die forgingOpen die forging or Free forging: The Force and pressure are applied on the metal located on both the top and bottom metal, then we could make the metal deformed to get the required shape. Mainly, there are two kinds of free forging process: hand-forged or forging machinery, such as magic hand.

Close die forging: The metal deformation are got by pressing the metal into a molding. asicly, close die forging process can be divided into mould forging, cold forging, rotary forging, extrusion, etc.

2.Hot Forging, Warm forging and Cold forging

With different deformation temperature, the forging process could be classified into hot forging( temperature above the metal recrystallization temperature), Warm forging

( Below the metal recrystallization temperature) and Cold forging( at room temperature).

Forging Material

Mostly, we use carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass material to forge our forging parts. But some other factory could use magnesium alloy, titanium alloy material, etc.Raw material are Bar, ingot, metal powder or liquid metals. 

Tips:

Please pay attention to the forging ratio.

In the cross-sectional area of metal deformation before and after deformation modulus than cross-sectional area called the forging ratio.

If using the right forging ratio, it will help you to improve the quality and reduce costs.
